..to live again

It's funny how life moves so fast, where you can feel like you're 18, living in the zeitgeist of ‘Young, wild n free’, while in your formative years, pumped up with excitement and eager to embrace all the possibilities, only to suddenly find yourself bumping Barrister’s ‘Oke Agba ni mo gun, e ma je kin jabo’, regretting the choices you've made while still feeling the tingling sensation when you bend to pick something. The bewilderment of how youthful dreams are transformed into a weight of missed opportunities, unfulfilled aspirations and getting left behind by your peers.
Experiencing this transition from exuberance to remorse can be jarring. It is a reminder to live each moment fully, with passion and intention.
In life, one can find oneself in excellent health one minute, only to be faced with debilitating health issues the next, leaving one feeling helpless and experiencing a crisis of faith. Witnessing the fragility of our bodies and the sudden onset of ailments can be a disorienting experience. The feeling of helplessness can be daunting as you are confronted with your mortality, the disillusionment of life and the realization of death.
Only thing worse than death is a regret-filled coffin. - J. Cole
The culmination of these catapults you back to moments in your life; the small and big Ws, unrealized romantic endeavors, family gatherings and acts of kindness. These remind you to be present and appreciate simple pleasures and embrace moments by shaping our journeys; might be a journey towards a feeling of being happy.
That's why it's important to embrace the moment, make choices that align with your values, and treasure the experiences that make your life, so that when you're singing ‘Oke Agba’ , you're going to look back and be content rather than regretting missed opportunities when you're older. However, our journey may be arduous, but we can learn new perspectives, inner strength, and a renewed sense of faith that helps us navigate life's challenges.
The very first step can be clearing your room or immediate surroundings, or your shuffling playlist elevating your mood to ‘Adedotun’ by Brymo and you are looking for an “Adedotun” to sing to.
